 Instructions on downloading and installing BusinessExpress3_7.exe

  Program: MI Business Start-up Express

  Subject: Update Disk, Version 3.7

  Dear TaxTime USA, Inc. Customer,

  This update fixes the following in the program:

  • Updates made to form 518 Michigan Registration and form 163 Notice of Change or Discontinuance.

  • Also includes update 3.6. Fixes the problem for users still experiencing the License Expiring error.

  • Also includes update 3.5. Updates have been made to the following forms to reflect State and Federal revisions:
    #8832 Entity Classification, #163 Notice of Change or Discontinuance, #541 Certificate of Assumed Name & SS-4 Application
     for Employer Identification Number.

  • Also includes update 3.4. In the Articles of Incorporation for a Non-profit, when a client clicks on the drop down box
    selecting the Articles screen and attempts to add/change/delete articles the following error message is displayed:
    Application Terminated. Error: Invalid DataWindow row/column specified in Line 21 at open event of object
    w_articles_entry for_form.

  • Also includes update 3.3. In form 1772 Discontinuance when a user entered client data in the General Info screen, the

  • City/State/Zip Code would not transfer over to LineB on the Discontinuance form.

  • Also includes update 3.2. If user enters a business start date after 7/1/2006 or later on various fields on various forms the
    program displays a Program Expiration date error message.


    Download Update from Internet

    If you are in MI Business Startup Express 2006 Please Exit

    After clicking the above link, a File Download window will open.

    Click Open. A MI Business Startup Express update window will open.

    Change installation drive and folder to match were you originally installed the software.

    Click Finish

    The system will then ask to overwrite some files click Yes to All. This update does not alter any client files.
    It only updates program files.

    A message: Package Delivered Successfully will open when update is completed

    This will completes the update

    You may re-enter the software. Click Help from the main menu bar and then click About.
    The software should now say Ver 3.7

 Instructions on downloading and installing CTYUP15_2.exe

  Date: March 1, 2006

  Program: City Express 2005

  Subject: Update Disk, Version 15.2

  Dear TaxTime USA, Inc. Customer,
       

  • This update makes Page 1 form changes to the 2005 Hamtramck Resident and Non-Resident returns. Their form has added an input for Dependents’ Year of Birth and there are minor cosmetic form changes that have also been made with this update.
  • Also includes Update 15.1.  Update Version 15.1 fixed the following problem: Detroit Resident and Non Resident Exemption amounts decreased in 2005 from the 2004 amount. The correct 2005 amount is $600.00 per exemption. City Express 2005 shipped with the incorrect exemption amount of $750.00. Please do not process any Detroit Individual returns until you load this update.

            After clicking the above link, a File Download window will open. Click Open.
         
            A City Express 2005 update window will open. Change installation drive and folder to match were you originally
            installed the software.

           Click Finish. The system will then ask to overwrite some files, click: Yes to All.

           This update does not alter any client files. It only updates form files.

           A message: Package Delivered Successfully will open when update is completed.

           This will completes the update. The version of the software will be 15.2 on the opening screen

  Program: PPT Tax Express 2006

  Subject: Update Disk Version 8.2


  Dear TaxTime USA, Inc. Customer,

  This update fixes the following problems related to the 2006 PPT Express:

  • The 2006 Cable Television and Utility Personal Property Report (Form 3589) – proforma files from 2005 – page 1 and 2 may
    be printing on second pages resulting in 4 pages when there should only be 2 pages to that form. Assets may not be
    coming across also. This update will fix the printing and proforma problem.

  • Batch Print feature – if Print Title option is marked in configuration and Batch Print is being used to print any returns
    the Company Name of the first return in your client list prints at top left of all pages. This update fixes this so the
    correct Company Name prints on all pages.

  • Proforma from 2005 of any default Instruction Letters other than the Instruction Letter named “Default” does not proforma
    unless you saved a new letter last year and imported it from the Proforma screen. All prior year files proforma as the
    “Default” Instruction Letter. This update allows for proforma of whatever Instruction Letter was used last year.

  • Fixes a label print problem when printing the assessor address labels with zip + 4. Currently it prints an extra - in the zip
     code and does not print the last digit of the + 4 part of the zip code.

  • Site Users:
    • Save the PPTUPD8_2.exe file onto a floppy.

      To INSTALL this update:

  • Network Users:
     
    • Click on START

    • Type: X:\PPT2006\SPPTUPD8_2.exe where X is the drive you installed program to during installation.

      The update program will then ask for the hard drive and directory where the 2006 PPT Express program was installed to. The default is: C:\PPT2006. Change to the network location where you installed PPT Express.
       
  • Site Users:
     
    • Put the diskette in drive A: (or B:)
    • Click on START
    • Click on RUN
       
    • Type: A:\PPTUPD8_2.exe

      The update program will then ask for the hard drive and directory where the 2006 PPT Express Program is executed from. The default is: C:\PPT2006. Change if necessary.

      Do this on each station that runs the Sales Tax Express software from the local drive.

       NOTE – During installation you may get an Overwrite Protection message. Click: Yes to All.

  Subject: Update Disk Version 4.3

  This update fixes the following problems related to the 2005 Annual Return for Sales, Use & Withholding Taxes:

  • In some situations the Annual Report figures print in an extremely small font. This problem is fixed. Also contains prior
    version fixes from: March 17, 2005

  • There may be a rounding problem, which results in a balance due or overpayment being shown on some returns
    of .01 or .02. This is related to the recalculation of line 8 – Gross Tax Due. This update does not recalculate line 8;
    it adds up each month’s worksheet amounts and enters the total.

  • In some situations the year to day summary and work sheet figures print in an extremely small font. This problem is fixed.

      This update must be loaded where you installed MI Sales Tax Express 2005 software originally.

      Download Update from Internet:

  • Network Users:
    • Save the ST05UPD43.exe file to your SLSTAX05 directory on your network.
       
  • Site Users:
    • Save the ST05UPD43.exe file onto a floppy.

     To INSTALL this update:

  • Network Users:
     
    • Click on START

    This update fixes the following items:

  • MI Power of Attorney – part 3 prints the check boxes for Treasury and UIA.

  • General Information – allows alpha characters in the Federal Id number field.

  • MI Registration – Prints the boxes for lines 16, 17 and 18

     This update must be loaded where you originally installed the MI Business Startup Express 2005 program.

      Download Update from Internet:

  • Network Users:
    • Save the TXFRMS05UPD.exe file to your TXFRMS05 directory on your network.
       
  • Site Users:
    • Save the TXFRMS05UPD.exe file onto a floppy.

      To INSTALL this update:

  • Network Users:
     
    • Click on START
    • Click on RUN
       
    • Type: X:\TXFRMS05\TXFRMS05UPD.exe   where X is the drive you installed program to during installation.

      The update program will then ask for the hard drive and directory where the 2005 MI Business Startup Express program was installed to. The default is: C:\TXFRMS05. Change to the network location where you installed MI Business Startup Express 2005. This update only needs to be installed to your network drive and not to each station running program.
       
  • Site Users:
     
    • Put the diskette in drive A: (or B:)
    • Click on START
    • Click on RUN
       
    • Type: A:\TXFRMS05UPD.exe

      The update program will then ask for the hard drive and directory where the 2005 MI Business Startup Express program was installed to. The default is: C:\TXFRMS05. Change if necessary.

      Do this on each station that runs the MI Business Startup Express 2005 software from the local drive.
