   This update fixes the following in the program:

  • This update includes the following: Changes to Forms I-9 and 2848 - Federal Power of Attorney.
  • Also includes update 5.7: Expanded Third Party Designee Address field on the SS-4 to allow for longer addresses.
  • Also includes update 5.6:: Changes to Mailing Address field on Form 163, correcting Income Tax Withholding check
    box under Question 3 on Form 163, Changing Articles of Incorporation LLC & PLLC to Articles of Organization LLC & PLLC
    on drop down menu. Changes to how company name prints in instruction letter if there is an apostrophe in the name.
  • Also includes update 5.5: Update to addresses on Instruction Letters and Where to File on forms 2553 S-Corp & 8832 Entity

    If you are experiencing this problem please also check to see that your Start In and Target folders of the short cut are

  • After downloading and installing the update the program will display an error and shut down when it is restarted in some
    situations.

    problem if they are different.

    To load this update:

    If you are in MI Sales Tax Express 2008 please exit.

    After clicking the link below, a File Download window will open.

    Click Open or Run.  If a Security Warning message opens Click Run.

    A MI Sales Tax Express 2008 update window will open.

    Change installation drive and folder to match where you originally installed the software.

    Click Finish.

  Subject: Update Disk, Version 10.5

  Dear TaxTime USA, Inc. Customer,

  • This update addresses the problem of the software losing its registration from time to time. If you are experiencing this problem
    please also check to see that your Start In and Target folders of the short cut are the same, as this will also cause this
    problem if they are different.

  • Also includes Update 10.3: After selecting a letter to edit the system does not allow the user to print the instruction letter.

  • Also includes Update 10.2: If you import data from either of our programs listed above the grand total amounts for cost and
    assessed value are not computing in PPT Express. Also, the approximate tax is not being calculated. This problem is
    limited to only files being imported from the programs above. This update fixes this problem so that import files from Business
    Startup Express or MI Sales Tax Express compute grand totals and approximate annual tax properly. To fix existing import
    files that have already been imported either delete the file and re-import or go into the new file and go to the Summary Tab
    and enter 0 on line 16a and 16b. The 0 will not display on the screen but the Totals will calculate and print.

    This update fixes this problem so that new files that are imported will show the Page 1 totals.

  This update fixes the following in the program:

  • The Annual Return – Form 165 has been updated by the State of Michigan.  The only major difference is the inclusion of line 3a for use tax on services, which was repealed.  This update allows user to put in an amount on the Annual Return for this line if needed and makes other minor cosmetic form changes.  This updated form is not required to be used so if any Annual Returns were previously filed the State has told us there is no need to re-file.

  This update fixes the following in the program:

  • When in the MI Power of Attorney form under Part 4 there are two boxes you can check, either "Change in Power of Attorney
     Representation" or "Revoke Previous Authorization".  If you check the "Change in Power" box and then check the
     Preview button it would show both the "Change in Power" and the "Revoke Previous" boxes as checked.

    After clicking the below link, a File Download window will open.

    A Win Zip Self Extractor containing the Updated Business Startup files will open.

  This update fixes the following in the program:

  • Partial pay by the 12th Discount Vouchers incorrectly computed the sales tax discount when the discount amount was
    less than $6.00. All other sales tax discount calculations were correct. This update fixes this problem.

  Subject: Update Disk, Version 5.3

  Dear TaxTime USA, Inc. Customer,

  This update fixes the following in the program:

  • Annual Return, line 14 – Use Tax Purchases. If you enter an adjustment to this line on the Annual Return the
    program incorrectly computed the use tax at the rate of .6 instead of the correct rate of .06. This update fixes this problem.
     

  • Also includes 5.2 update: Occasionally there is a rounding problem when when computing Use Tax column line 8 of the
    Annual Return. The value printed may be .01 off, resulting in a possible .01 balance due or over payment on the annual
    return. This update fixes this potential problem.

  • Also includes 5.1 update: If a user does not enter the last four digits of a Zip Code after the hyphen in the General Info screen,
    it would drop the 5th digit of the Zip Code on the City/State/Zip line in the Bottle Return Form.

  Date: January 10, 2007

  Program: MI Unemployment Express

  Subject: Update Disk, Version 2.4

  Dear TaxTime USA, Inc. Customer,

  This update fixes the following in the program:

  • Update is the 2006 update for Form 940.  The 940EZ form has been eliminated and replaced by one Form 940.

  • Updates to form 518 Michigan Registration.

  • Also includes update 2.2: In the MI Registration form when a client enters a date higher than 4/1/06 for the Sales Tax
    Liability (Line 12a) it displays the error: Invalid liability began date for Sales Tax. The allowed last eligible date for liability
    begin date for Sales Tax (line 12a) is 4/1/06. Please update to a new version of Business Startup Express.

  • Also includes 2.1 update: In the MI Registration form and 1772 Discontinuance form, when a user entered information
    in the General Info screen it was not transferring over to the MI Registration form or Discontinuance form.

  Subject: Import from all Depreciation Programs

  Dear TaxTime USA, Inc. Customer,

 

  • If you import data from a depreciation program and create a new client file the Total Cost and Assessor Calculation Totals (Preparer Copy) on Page 1, below line16 does not calculate or print.  When importing into an existing file the totals do calculate and print.                                                

    This update fixes this problem so that new files that are imported will show the Page 1 totals.    

    To fix existing new files that have been imported either delete the file and re-import or go into the new file and go to the Summary Tab and enter 0 on line 16a and 16b.  The 0 will not display on the screen but the Totals will calculate and print.
